The 2024 RSEQ rugby season kicks off at Carleton on Sunday afternoon as the Carleton Ravens host the back-to-back U SPORTS champions from Laval.
The Ravens will have a fresh look when they host the Rouge-et-Or as a veteran roster welcomes some fresh new faces for a balanced attack. Ravens veteran Malak Saifelnasr is among the 'new' faces, returning to the line-up after spending the 2023 season with the Egyptian 7s national team.
Adding international experience to the Ravens roster is first-year Sierra Hasse. Hasse joins Carleton off a summer tour with the Canada U20 program through Wales. Hasse will join a strong core of backs that also include Victoria Bullock, an internal transfer who joins the rugby program from the Ravens women's rugby team.
The two newcomers join a veteran core in the back-field led by the speedy Claire File, Fatima Ramadan and McKenna Taylor. The Ravens speed and skill will lend to a more extensive game that is sure to delight fans at TAAG Park.
The Ravens forward group is a strong core that includes returning veterans Ember Warren, Carolyn Foster and Jayden Spence.
