OTTAWA (Sept. 8, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens continued their undefeated start to the 2024 season on Sunday with a 4-0 win against RMC.
The Ravens started slow against the visiting Paladins, taking time for the young starting 11 to find a rhythm against the stingy RMC defensive line. When Carleton did finally begin to build momentum in the final third of the opening half they were rewarded with several scoring chances. Despite their opportunities, it wasn't until the final minute of the half that they'd strike pay dirt.
After finally forcing the RMC defenders to break down in their own box, the Ravens were rewarded a penalty and Mohamed Bouzidi left nothing to chance. The third-year stepped up and confidently a ball to the bottom left corner, far from the sprawling keeper.
The Ravens didn't waste any time continuing their momentum in the second half. In the 57th minute, Jacob Halie was the fourth player to make contact with a bouncing ball in the box as he hammered the rebound past Finn Gregoire for the Ravens brace.
Carleton would add two more goals in quick succession with Saddick Sarhaoui hammering home a 62nd-minute goal before rookie Simon Rochon sprinted past a sprawling Gregoire to despite his first career goal into a yawning goal.
Wearing the captain's armband, Roberto Paguage Frankovich got many touches but was never tested recording the clean sheet without facing a shot. For their pressure, the Ravens fired 20 balls toward goal with Gregoire making 12 saves for the Paladins in the losing effort.
The Ravens are back in action on the road next weekend when they face Trent and Ontario Tech.
