OTTAWA (Sept. 16, 2024) - Carleton Ravens football will look to make it back-to-back wins when they host McMaster on Saturday at 4:00 PM. The game is pivotal in the race for the OUA playoffs as the two teams are currently tied for 7th in the standings.
The Ravens improved to 1-3 on Saturday afternoon with a convincing 42-21 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues. With significant work left to make the playoffs, the Ravens hope this is just the start of their momentum.
The Marauders enter Saturday with the same 1-3 record, despite Keagan Hall leading U SPORTS with 1,277 passing yards. Hall's leading receiving Nicholas Adair has had an up-and-down year with two 100+ yard games and two games of 52 or fewer yards. On the other side of the ball, Tristan Ready sits just ahead of Adair with 357 yards to Adair's 331, good for second in the OUA.
While Matt Morin has quickly established Carleton's ground game, scoring three touchdowns in the last two weeks, McMaster's Brayden Kelly is ninth in the OUA with 227 yards or 75.7 per game.
Defensively, Carleton and Mac are fairly equal, both allowing around 200 yards per game of passing, McMaster has been slightly better at stopping the run, surrendering 172.8 yards per game to Carleton's 204.0. The Marauders also enter the weekend with a league-high 9 sacks, while the Ravens secondary leads the OUA with 9 interceptions.
