OTTAWA (Sept. 24, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens women's hockey team announced today the commitment of two members of the OWHL's Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves for the 2025-26 season. The Ravens announced the signings of defender Grace Wolsey and goaltender Abby Parkinson.
Wolsey, of Mallorytown, Ont., is a 5'5" left shot defender. In 2023-24, her second season in the OWHL, Wolsey recorded 6 points and 36 penalty minutes in 43 games. "I am beyond excited to continue my athletic and academic career at Carleton University," wrote Wolsey. "The enthusiasm of the coaches throughout my recruitment process was so incredible and definitely drew me towards Carleton!"
Parkinson, of Courtice, Ont., appeared in 24 games last season for Kingston posting a 2.16 GAA and .928 save percentage with 2 shutouts. "I am proud and excited to announce my commitment to play U SPORTS hockey and continue my academic career at Carleton University," Parkinson wrote of her commitment. "I want to thank my family, coaches, billet families, and friends who have supported me along the way. I am very grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to get started in September 2025!"
The Carleton Ravens will begin their 2024-25 season, their first in the OUA, on October 11 when they host the Brock Badgers.
Established as a varsity program in 2004, the Carleton Ravens women's hockey team spent 19 years in the RSEQ before transitioning to the OUA for the 2024-25 season. Led by head coach Stacey Colarossi, the Ravens have produced almost twenty professional players and had alumni represent the club at the international level.
