Sherbrooke, Que. (Sept. 8, 2024) - Battling from behind for most of the afternoon, the Carleton Ravens scored late to earn a 27-27 tie against Bishop's on Sunday.
The tie was the first in the RSEQ since the 2019 season, and the first for the Ravens since tying Montreal in the final game of the 2016 season at Montreal. The Gaiters last tied twice during the 2018 season.
The Ravens were trailing early when Sierra Hasse broke free to score her first try as a Raven. Carolyn Foster game the Ravens their first lead of the half, plunging in to make it 10-7. The Gaiters wouldn't back down and took a 12-10 lead into the half.
Coming out of the break, Bishop's pushed ahead 17-10 before Carleton powered back. Jayden Spence would cut the lead to 17-15 before Carleton jumped ahead with a little over thirty minutes to play when Spence once against powered over the try line to restore the lead.
The Gaiters then got busy pulling with little time left. The forwards continued to be a force for Carleton, after the Ravens drove Bishop's to the shadows of their goalposts Ember Warren would plunge in giving Zoe Nield a long angled kick for the tie. Nield would make no mistake, powering the ball between the posts to secure the Ravens 2 points.
