OTTAWA (Sept. 8, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens women's soccer team improved to 2-1-1 on Sunday afternoon with a commanding 8-1 victory against RMC.
Ava Mills would open and close the scoring on Sunday, finishing just under four minutes into the contest. Lauren Illman would score only five minutes later to make it 2-0, finishing a great corner with a subtle header inside the far post. The Ravens' first-half offence would continue just fives minutes later when Mikayla Moser scored a rebound after being taken to the deck. The Carleton scoring would be capped off just a minute later when Illman sent a screamer from about 25 yards out to make the deficit three.
In the second half, Carleton took a while to convert after some substitutions at halftime, but when they did, they continued to show their class. Quinn Snell would score a penalty in the 64th minute before Molly Owen scored her first OUA goal in the 72nd moments after RMC had broken the Ravens' clean sheet off a free kick.
Carleton would tack on two more goals to cap off the 8-1 victory as Owen and Mills would each add before the end of the half.
The Ravens now prepare for a difficult weekend, visiting RMC and Queen's on a short trip down the 401.
