OTTAWA (Oct 20, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens dropped their second straight decision on Saturday night with a 5-1 loss to the Lakehead Thunderwolves.
The Thunderwolves got the home crowd going early with a goal from Luca Fasciano. Fasciano's third of the year was followed late in the first by Nicholas Campbell's first and Carleton found themselves behind 2-0 after 20. Despite the deficit, Tye Austin (Pembroke, Ont.) was the story in the first, stopping 15 shots to keep the Ravens alive.
Lakehead would extend the lead during a physical second period with Justin Paul scoring on the power play. Lakehead held Carleton to 15 shots through two periods, including four in the second, outshooting Carleton 2:1 through two.
The Ravens looked to fight back in the third, but couldn't muster much moment. Alex Johnston (Ottawa, Ont.) scored his first of the year, pouncing on a loose puck in the slot and sliding it past Christian Cicigoi. The Ravens couldn't cut any closer as Lakehead added two for a 5-1 win.
