OTTAWA (Oct. 1, 2024) - There's more than Pedro on the line when the Carleton Ravens face the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the 55th Panda Game this Sunday afternoon.
The Ravens (2-4) and Gee-Gees (2-4) could be playing for the final OUA playoff spot when they meet at TD Place. The Ravens enter the matchup with a 24-10 win over the York Lions while the Gee-Gees have lost three straight including back-to-back road losses at Windsor and Laurier.
In front of the largest U SPORTS crowd of the season, the Ravens enter with one of the best passing attacks in the OUA, averaging 286.0 yards per game. Defensively, the Gee-Gees are one of the stingiest teams in the OUA allowing only 360.8 yards per game grounding opposition to just 158.0 yards per game passing.
Carleton's platoon of running backs has steadily increased the team's rushing attack. Having averaged 166 yards per game over the last three weeks, the Ravens enter Panda rotating through four running backs who are all carrying the ball well.
On the other side of the ball, the Ravens lead the OUA in interceptions (12) and are second in sacks (13). At eighth in the OUA with only 1,078 passing yards, the Ravens' secondary may be less of a factor against the Gee-Gees' impressive running game which ranks fourth in the conference with 940 yards.
Two of the least penalized teams in the OUA make it unlikely that flags will play a key factor in the game.
