OTTAWA (Oct. 8, 2024) - Ravens rowers Alexander Ladage and Rosie O'Brien have been named Carleton Ravens Athletes of the Week for September 30 to October 6, 2024. O'Brien becomes the first back-to-back winner of 2024 and the first student-athlete to earn the honour twice this season.
Kanata's Alexander Ladage has earned his second Athlete of the Week award of his career after being given the honour in October of 2023. At the Head of the Trent Regatta Ladage earned silver in the lightweight and heavyweight single and a bronze in the heavyweight double.
For the second straight week, Rosie O'Brien has earned Athlete of the Week honours. O'Brien continued her hot start to the 2024 season capturing silver in the lightweight single and bronze in the heavyweight double at the Head of the Trent. O'Brien now has five medals in two weeks of competition.
With four athlete of the week honours in her career, O'Brien is one of the most highly award Ravens of all-time.
Ravens women's basketball star Heather Lindsay leads the all-time list with 16 awards. The last women's student-athlete to win the award back-to-back is Kali Pocrnic in February and March of 2023.
