OTTAWA (Oct. 13, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens women's rugby team saw their season come to an end on Saturday with a 62-12 loss to the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the RSEQ semifinals.
Trailing 5-0 early in the contest the Ravens battled back when Zoe Nield intercepted a Gee-Gees pass and exploded untouched for the try. Nield's run, which began near midfield, caught the Gee-Gees flat-footed as she raced through to tie the game. Nield would successfully complete the convert and give Carleton the lead in the opening 17 minutes of the contest.
Ottawa wasted little time taking back the lead in the game, scoring less than two minutes later. The Gee-Gees didn't let up from there, going off on a for 36 first-half points to lead by 29 at the break.
The Ravens fought bravely in the second half but only managed one try from Jayden Spence while the Gee-Gees added another 30 points to their tally.
The Ravens' season comes to a close finishing in the top four for the fourth consecutive season.
