OTTAWA (Nov. 11, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens controlled the inside on Sunday night while collecting a 94-50 win over the visiting York Lions.
The Ravens cleaned up on the glass, dominating with a +32 rebound differential while outscoring York 26-18 in the paint and 17-10 on second-chance points.
The Ravens started strong building a 16-8 lead before York rallied back to end the first quarter trailing by just one. The Lions comeback woke up the Ravens, who went to work in the second. Carleton exploded for a 24-0 run to open the second with five players scoring to open the frame. The Ravens' explosion was fueled by the three ball going 60.0% from beyond the arc with five Ravens hitting from deep.
Led by two deep balls from Marjok Okado the Ravens found a devastating rhythm as the team shot 56.5% percent while holding York to 1-4 from the field.
The Lions pushed back in the third, going shot for shot with the Ravens but eight points from Emanuel Milon was enough to extend the lead by three more. Milon's game-high 19 points saw him finish a rebound shy of a double-double. The third-year Raven from Fort Erie Academy has been red hot for Carleton, averaging career highs with 13.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
No Ravens player would go on to play more than 25 minutes on the night as coach Taffe Charles saw 11 of his 12 players score points.
The Ravens are back in action on Friday night when they welcome the Algoma Thunderbirds to the Nest for the first time since 2022.
