OTTAWA (Oct. 31, 2024) - Carleton Ravens men's soccer captain Yusuf Osman was named the OUA East Community Service Award winner on Friday afternoon. The conference also announced that Osman along with Brady Curkovic, Ousman Maheshe. and Adam N'Goran were named East division all-stars.
The Ravens' captain and leader in the dressing room, Osman works tirelessly within the community. Yusuf is a member of Varsity Council as well as a coach within the Ottawa region. He is heavily involved in the grass-roots Junior Ravens program delivering a soccer training programs to local children. Yusuf's selfless attitude on and off the pitch has propelled a young Ravens team to new heights of excellence and helped build a strong family culture.
Adding a goal over nine regular season games, Osman was also named a first-team OUA all-star alongside Brady Curkovic and Ousman Maheshe.
Maheshe made an instant impact recording a hat trick in the season opener - a feat he repeated in the Ravens first round playoff matchup. A performance which earned the speedy forward earned OUA Athlete of the Week honours on October 21. Maheshe's eight regular season points saw him tie for second on the team in scoring.
Defender Brady Curkovic proved stronger with every game in the 2024 season recording three goals over his 10 appearances. The finance student from Ottawa's St. Pius X High School had a breakout year and became an impact player for the Ravens as the season went on.
Second-year accounting major Adam N'Goran quickly evolved into a top defender in the Ravens midfield. The second team all-star from Gatineau held a calming central role for the Ravens in the middle of the park throughout the season.
