The Ravens women's hockey team look to keep pace in the grueling OUA East playoff Race when they face the 7-4 Windsor Lancers on Friday night. It's a single game weekend for Carleton after travelling to Ontario Tech and Queen's last weekend.
After picking up only two points with a shootout win Saturday, Carleton now find themselves smack in the middle of a battle for the fifth and final playoff spot with the Gaels and Ontario Tech. The Lancers on the other hand are absolutely rolling. With points in seven straight games, Windsor's lone blemish in November is a shootout loss at TMU.
For both the Ravens and Lancers is offence by committee. Neither team has a scorer in the leagues top 10. Instead Windsor's Maggie Peterson (8) is one point ahead of Ravens rookie Olwen Jones (7).
Discipline will be a major factor on Friday, the Lancers are among the least penalized teams in the OUA with 77 penalty minutes, 35 behind the Ravens 112. Both teams enter the contest with similar 13% power plays but the Lancers also sport the OUA's worst penalty kill at just 67.6%. The Ravens have clipped along at an impressive 25% over their last two games and hope continued success on the advantage can be the difference.
