(Oct. 20, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens baseball team captured the inaugural CNUC Baseball championship with a 7-4 win over Guelph.
The Ravens finished first the OUA East in the regular season, to earn their trip to the national championship tournament. After a disappointing result at the East regionals the Ravens bounced back in a big way in Guelph culminating with a two-out rally in the 7th inning of the championship game.
Tournament MVP Owen Constantineau and Eric Blamauer hit back-to-back doubles to score go ahead and eventually winning runs for Carleton before Eric Del Fatti knocked home a pair to put the game out of reach.
The game was sweet revenge for the Ravens who lost to Guelph in the round robin. The Ravens responded following their Pool A loss with wins over UQTR (7-3) and UNB (4-3) to earn a semifinal matchup with Acadia. After dropping the Axemen 11-1 the Ravens made no mistake finishing the story on Sunday afternoon.
