As the newest members of the Ravens' coaching staff, Chelsea and Celine are creating visibility for aspiring women coaches and student-athletes alike. And through Carleton's Women in Sport fund, they — along with fellow athletics professionals and student-athletes — will be able to access equitable resources and opportunities for growth in order to deepen their impact and expertise throughout their time at Carleton.
Kwesi Loney, Director of High Performance Sport, emphasizes the impact of this funding opportunity:
"The future of the Department of Athletics Women in Sport fund is both promising and essential for fostering an inclusive and dynamic sports culture on campus. This investment not only enhances opportunities for women to compete at the highest levels but also builds a sustainable foundation for growth, encouraging the next generation of female athletes and coaches. The fund’s ongoing support will supplement institutional efforts to ensure equal access, resources, and recognition, creating an environment where women in sport are celebrated, supported, and able to excel." During her time with the Ravens, McClure brought home various medals and championship titles, and grew to become a prominent role model and leader in her sport. We spoke with McClure about her time with the Ravens and her experiences as a women in sport.
