Meet Dani Sinclair….Head Coach of Women’s Basketball at Carleton University.
Since joining the Ravens as Head Coach of Women’s Basketball in 2020, Dani Sinclair has led her team to multiple U SPORTS national championship titles, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) championships and other accolades, including winning OUA Coach of the Year in 2023.
As a leader, Dani focuses on building a strong team culture of trust, cohesion and vulnerability. Her approach to coaching emphasizes more than just wins—Dani is committed to developing her players into not only exceptional student-athletes but also outstanding individuals, both on and off the court.
Quote: “It’s important to be present in the role and to demonstrate a level of competency, but also vulnerability. An important part of leadership and how I can be a good example, is that I show all sides of myself. I really believe that is what’s at the essence of being a coach these days.”
Learn more about Sinclair's coaching philosophies and how she is elevating the Women’s Basketball Program while inspiring a new generation of women in sport.
Members of the Women's Basketball program brought home a silver medal at the International University Sports Federation (FISU) University World Cup 3X3 Basketball tournament, held in Xiamen, China in November. We spoke with the team about their experience representing both Carleton and Canada on an international stage, and how this achievement will impact future women student-athletes on campus.
