The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team returned to their winning ways over the weekend as they prepared for conference play beginning Friday night in Toronto. Ravens opened 2025 with wins over McGill and Bishop’s to improve to 14-5 overall.
Carleton entered the break 9-2 in the OUA and despite losing two straight to wrap up 2024 have made great strides after last season's 13-9 records.
Carleton trailed McGill by two points after one quarter on Friday night before rallying for a dominant 85-54 win. The Ravens shot the ball well going 42% or better for each of the last three quarters only cooling off slightly in the fourth when three-point shooting dipped to 25%. Augustas Brazdeikis led the Ravens with 18 points.
On Saturday, the RSEQ leading Bishop’s Gaiters gave the Ravens a scare in the first half taking an eleven-point lead into the break. Aubrey Dorey-Havens led the charge for Carleton in the second, playing almost 39 minutes the second-year guard scored 17 points including drawing several fouls to punish the Gaiters with nine made free throws. After the Gaiters tied the game with a buzzer-beater three, Emanual Milon proved to be a clutch from the line in the extra five minutes to lock up the Ravens' two-point victory.
The Ravens will open 2025 on the road for two weeks before returning home on January 24 and 25, 2025.
