Ottawa (Jan. 26, 2025) - The Carleton Ravens scored four times in the third period to take a key 6-3 win over the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday night.
The Ravens broke the ice early in the first period when Madoka Suzuki (Kaniwaga, JPN) fed Will Collins for an easy tap in to open the scoring. Steven Bacovsky (Calgary, Alta.) would stand tall for the Ravens throughout the period before Braeden Virtue (Worcester, MA) finished off a give-and-go two-on-one with Oliver Castleman (Ottawa, Ont.) to make it 2-0 after twenty.
The Gryphons would get two back in the second with Nolan Forster and Nolan DeGurse scoring ninety seconds apart to tie things up at two.
Braeden Virtue would renew the Carleton lead early in the third before DeGurse scored his second of the night less than two minutes later to tie things up at three. The Ravens wouldn't back down, just 26 seconds later Blake Allan found Oliver Castleman open and he ripped one past Tanner Wickware for the 4-3 lead. Majid Kaddoura would unload a slapshot from the dot just after the midway point of the period for his first of the year and the brace the Ravens would need.
Gio Morneau would score his twelfth goal of the year into the empty net to extend his goal scoring streak to three games and his point streak to seven.
