OTTAWA (Jan. 28, 2025) - On Sunday, January 26, 2025, Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) announced the 44th RCA Excellence Awards recipients including Ravens alumna Anna Currie. Currie was one of two recipients of the Tony Zasada Memorial Award.
The award honours an RCA athlete who best emulates Tony’s character and determination. This past August, Currie represented Canada at the Mega Worlds 2024 in St. Catharines, Ontario.
After joining Carleton Rowing in 2013, Currie had a successful career that saw her represent Carleton at the 2016 FISU World University Rowing Championships. In her time at Carleton, Currie was twice named team MVP winning the award in 2013-14 and 2015-16.
