The Carleton Ravens women's basketball team has returned to the number one spot in the U SPORTS Top 10 after eight weeks in the first position in 2023-24.
Carleton opened the season seventh after finishing 2024 the top seed. The back-to-back national champions have showed off their depth in 2024-25, putting together another impressive start including a pair of wins while three players were away at the FISU 3x3 Basketball World Cup.
The Ravens success thus far has been a team effort, without a top ten scorer or rebounder in U SPORTS, Carleton's balanced offence that has the third best shooting percentage in the country. Scoring 77.9 points a night, Carleton are behind only Saskatchewan in points per game.
Carleton's bread and butter remains their defensive play, the Ravens are fourth nationally in rebound margin per game and opponents' field goal percentage.
Despite losses before the holiday's and again Saturday at TMU, the Ravens remain a Top 10 program on the men's side. Carleton has shown great improvement thus far and look to close the gap on the OUA East standings with nine games to play.
With only OUA East competition left on the schedule, the men currently have the fourth best record in the OUA and are chasing Ottawa as they look to lock down a first round bye.
