CAMBRIDGE, Ont. – For the second time in their program’s history, and first time since 2019, the Carleton Ravens men’s curling team are OUA champions. Sunday evening (February 9) at the Galt Country Club in Cambridge, Ontario, the Carleton Ravens scored three in the sixth end en route to an 8-5 win over the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in the gold medal draw of the 2025 OUA Men’s Curling Championships. With the result, Laurier’s quest for a fifth consecutive OUA titles comes to an end, with the Ravens claiming the 2025 conference banner.
Carleton skip, Owen Nicholls, fresh off winning a U20 provincial title, adds an OUA title to his growing resume, with the Haliburton, Ontario native leading the Ravens to a perfect 4-0 record through pool play, followed by quarterfinal and semifinal wins over Toronto and Waterloo, before defeating the Golden Hawks in the gold medal game. Nicholls was named an OUA All-Star as well as a major award winners as the 2025 OUA MVP.
Both the Ravens and Golden Hawks book a spot at nationals, with the 2025 U SPORTS Curling Championships set to take place in Lethbridge, Alberta February 24-28.
In the OUA bronze medal game, the Brock Badgers claimed the OUA’s final berth into nationals, with Brock defeating the Waterloo Warriors 5-3 to earn a trip to Alberta in late February.
