OTTAWA - Carleton Ravens alumni Mitch Raper and Michael Domagala have been named to the Football Canada Senior Men's National Tackle Team. The team is preparing for Football Canada's first senior tackle play since 2011.
Easily considered to be the greatest kicker in Ravens program history, Michael Domagala re-wrote the Carleton record books in his five seasons from 2014-2018. Today Domagala has the Ravens records for field goals in a season and a career, most PATs in a season and a career and the four longest field goal completions in program history. Domagala's 42.0 punting average is the highest in the Ravens modern era, second only to Jeff Morris's 1984 record. His 367 career points are 139 ahead of the next Raven.
After leaving Carleton, Domagala spent three seasons in the CFL kicking with Hamilton and Ottawa completing 27-of-35 attempted field goals including a career long 52-yard score in 2022. Domagala would go 3-for-3 in the 108th Grey Cup, a Hamilton loss to Winnipeg.
Fullback Mitch Raper played with the Carleton Ravens from 2016-2021 before attending Ottawa Redblacks training camp in 2022. Originally from Oshawa, Ont., Raper was a versatile five-year back who played offense and special teams.
Team Canada will play its first international qualification match against Italy in April.
