OTTAWA - A successful weekend in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, saw two Ravens medal and five of six participating Ravens qualify for the U SPORTS National Championships.
Heaven-Lee Emond was the star of the Ravens show. Emond captured the OUA silver medal in the 68 kg category having reached the final by going 2-0 in pool competition. Emond's silver medal comes after finishing fourth in 2024 at the 62 kg weight class last year.
"The team was all very proud to see her out there representing the Ravens on the big stage," said Ravens coach Chris Schrauwen. "She continues to show great composure in her matches and found the right attacks in the right moments to tactically win both of her preliminary matches."
Jessica Hong will also return to the national tournament after capturing bronze. With a pair of dominant pool wins, Hong returned to the OUA podium adding a bronze medal to her resume.
