OTTAWA (Feb. 3, 2025) - Ravens Nordic skiing sensation Helen McCulligh and sharpshooting basketball sophomore Daniel Smith are your Ravens' Athletes of the Week presented by z-teca Mexican Eatery for January 24 - February 2, 2025.
Fresh off her performance as the top Canadian Nordic skier at the FISU Winter Games, Helen McCulligh finished second in the CCUNC division of the FIS 2025 Eastern Championships over the weekend. Helen's time was also good for fifth in the events open division. Helen also had a top-ten finish in the sprints.
Going 9-of-11 from beyond the arch over the weekend, Daniel Smith was a force in the Ravens' offence. The second-year guard has started in eight straight contests for the Ravens and has made the most of it scoring in double-digits in six. Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds on Friday night before adding 15 points and 5 rebounds on Saturday.
