OTTAWA - Ravens swimmer Finn Tuck has qualified to return to the U SPORTS National Championships after winning bronze in the 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle. Tuck broke six of his own varsity records at the event while tying another.
At the 2025 OUA Championships in Markham, Tuck led a Ravens men's team that finished in 8th place, while the women were 10th. Tuck reached the finals in all four of his swims and will return to Toronto for the upcoming U SPORTS National Championship event. For medaling at three straight OUA Championships Tuck also received an OUA Award of Distinction.
Isabella Alma and Nicholas Scott participated in the OUA's exhibition para-finals. Alma was first in the 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke while Scott was first in teh 100m freestyle, butterfly and backstroke.
In addition to Tuck's record breaking performances Fayrouz Mecky broke Dina Egorov's program record in the 50m freestyle with a time of 27.33, a 0.10 improvement on the 2022-23 record. In the relays the women's 4x100m free relay (Mecky, Egorov, Coscarella and Davis) broke the 2007-08 program record by almost three seconds in a time of 4:05.79.
The men's 4x100m free relay (Tuck, Borden, N. Landry and L. Landry) broke a record set by a different Ravens lineup earlier this year, shaving 3.2 seconds off the record time.
Tuck is among five Ravens who will graduate after this season but with the U SPORTS Championship ahead, the Ravens continue to believe more records will be broken.
