OTTAWA (Feb. 22, 2025) - After sitting out Wednesday night with a first-round bye, the Carleton Ravens showed no rust on Saturday night opening on an 18-0 run, the Ravens would beat the McMaster Marauders 98-45.
With the win, the Ravens will host the TMU Bold in the OUA Semifinals at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Tickets for that game are on sale now.
The Ravens were lights out in the first quarter shooting 57.9% from the field while going 5-7 from beyond the arc. With four players scoring 5 or more points, the Ravens' early 18-0 lead was too much to handle for McMaster who shot only 22.2% in the quarter.
Carleton's defence continued to smother the Marauders in the second slowing down McMaster to 2-16 shooting as Jacqueline Urban had 7 points and the Ravens built a 30-point half-time lead.
The Ravens were dominant inside, out-rebounding McMaster 30-9 in the first half while outscoring them 22-2 in the paint. Carleton's big defensive play continued in the third as they added 10 points to their lead and controlled play despite McMaster scoring 21 in the quarter.
Teresa Donato had 10 of her game-high 25 points in the fourth including a pair of triples as Carleton got 15 of their last twenty points from their depth.
Carleton's depth was on display all night, with all 12 Ravens in the line-up playing seven or more minutes and 8 different Ravens recording points in the ball game. The Ravens came up huge on the glass finishing the night by out-rebounding McMaster by 33 and outscoring them in the paint by 28.
The Ravens now continue their quest for a third straight Critelli Cup when with the OUA semifinals on Saturday night.
