OTTAWA - Carleton Ravens alumnus Nate Behar has announced his retirement from the CFL. An original member of the reborn Ravens arrived on campus to great fanfare and famously lived up to the billing.
Most well known for 'The Catch' at the 2014 Panda Game, Behar is synonymous with the young Ravens football program. An electric wideout, Behar set program records in career receptions and receiving yards while tying the program's record for career touchdowns. Behar is on record with the two most productive seasons in Ravens history, and a 276-yard single-game receiving record, among many great accomplishments.
Originally drafted by Edmonton fifth overall, Behar remains the highest-drafted Ravens player in the program's modern era.
Behar broke out in his second season with Edmonton recording 27 grabs for 257 yards and one touchdown. After moving to Ottawa in 2019, Behar would have a career year in 2021 after COVID cost the league the 2020 season. Behar doubled down in 2022, improving from his 429 yards the previous year by rhyming off 727 yards on 59 receptions. A fan favourite during his time in Ottawa, Behar was a bright light during the Redblacks rebuilding years.
Behar finished his career with Montreal during the 2024 season, appearing in 12 games after signing late.
