OTTAWA (Mar. 5, 2025) - Ravens Jacqueline Urban, Kyana-Jade Poulin and Nathalie Francis received All-Star honours Wednesday afternoon. Alongside the three stars, women's basketball head coach Dani Sinclair received the conference's top honour as 2025 Coach of the Year. Sinclair led the Ravens to a perfect 22-0 regular season as she earned the award for the second straight season.
First-Team All-Star Jacqueline Urban was a force all season long finishing third in the OUA in field goal percentage and fourth in rebounds per game. Urban's 13.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game are made only more impressive when noting that she averaged just 26.1 minutes per game. The Ancaster, Ontario, guard has been a challenge for opposing teams all season shooting almost 50% while being a deep-ball threat at 35.6% from beyond the arc. Urban's 189 regular season rebounds were the fifth most in a single season in the Ravens modern era.
Kyana-Jade Poulin was named to the OUA's Second-Team. The Montreal guard showed the OUA what everyone at Carleton has long known, setting career highs in a handful of stats while scoring 287 points in just 20 games. While averaging over 14 points and 5 rebounds per game, Poulin's defence remains a pillar of her game. In 2024-25, the two-way threat recorded 10 blocks and 26 steals.
North Vancouver's Nathalie Francis was quick to impress playing over 20 minutes per game and averaging 6.0 rebounds and 5.6 points in her rookie season. After opening the season with 10 points a night in her first two games, Francis's breakout performance came on November 22, 2024, when she recorded 13 rebounds and 2 assists against Guelph.
Dani Sinclair is the first Ravens women's basketball coach to win OUA Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons. Sinclair's Ravens found a way to improve on last year's awe-inspiring 21-1 record to finish with a perfect 22-0 regular season mark. The undefeated regular season marks just the second time the feat has been accomplished in program history. It's also the first time any team in the OUA has gone undefeated in a full-length season since the Ravens accomplished the feat under Taffe Charles in 2017-19.
