A passion for sports and community and one crazy idea put Ravens' broadcast producer Adam Coplan into action. The Carleton grad and his friends, all die-hard Senators fans, recently completed their second walk to the Canadian Tire Centre for Tkachuk's Captains.
Born from one of those 'what if' ideas in 2024, Coplan and his friends set out to show that cars and buses weren't the only way to attend a Sens game. After walking from Lansdowne to the Kanata in 2024 - and raising $1,200- they upped the stakes in 2025. Sunday morning, the group left from Lebreton Flats, the potential future home of the Senators, to the Kanata arena, raising funds along the way.
The hike was no small feat, taking over six hours and requiring a bit of 'off-roading' as spring temperatures meant some flooded paths along the route. Coplan and crew were rewarded for their efforts, earning over $8,000 at publishing for Tkachuk's Captains. The Senators' organization treated the group to a meeting with the captain, Brady, before the game. The team would go on to shut out Columbus 4-0.
Donations to Coplan's walk can still be made on the Senators Community Foundation website.
