OTTAWA – In their second year of OPSE competition, Carleton eSports has picked up where they left off in 2021 with all five teams currently in the top half of their league standings.

The inaugural Hearthstone Champions have wasted little time, starting the season 3-0 while adding a number of strong showings in other competitions. In their inaugural season, Carleton Hearthstone won the OPSE Championship capping off a fantastic run that included strong showings in international competitions and league play and they wasted no time returning to form in 2022. Hearthstone is joined at the top of the tables by newcomers Valorant (6-1) who sit in second place and League of Legends (5-3) who are currently third. At 3-3 Overwatch sit firmly in the middle of their table in fourth place out of seven teams, while the 4-2 Rocket League team are sixth in their twelve-team league.

In addition to their early OPSE success, Valorant has also found success in other competitions including finishing first in the Conference One Fall Season, second place in the Collegiate Star League and first in three UGC monthly tournaments. The Ravens dominant Hearthstone team continued their success outside of OPSE league play with success in all four team members finding success in NACE Starleague Qualifiers, the OPSE’s Taven Challenge and Derek Wilson having incredible success going 5-3 in the Masters Tour Stormwind pro-level tournament while also finishing first in the NACE Qualifiers Tournament.
