Carleton Ravens' swimmer Yazan Al Bawwab has been nominted to the 2022 FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA). Al Bawwab (Palestine), a Mechanical Engineering student and swimming athlete is one of the two students who will represent Canada at the Academy. The aim of the FVLA is to create an international platform to promote university sports values and to train FISU Student Ambassadors in the implementation of international, national, and local projects and activities. This development opportunity also comes with concrete actions as students will have to implement an action plan to promote university sport values.
This edition will take place online on June 17 and September 2-3. The full program will end the following September (2023), which will give students a year to put their plan into action.
Al Bawwab previously represented Palestine at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
