As part of his second career, Dave is Ravens Golf's head coach, and formerly the team's mental strength coach and mentor. He graduated from Carleton in 1976 in Chemistry and played golf for the Ravens during the 1971-1972 season. He received one of the first scholarships offered by Sports Canada to be a student/golfer at university in Canada.
Dave retired from the Canadian federal government in 2008 and immediately began his golf coaching career. He is a member of the PGA of Canada and is a golf instructor, club fitter and junior coach at the Kevin Haime Golf School in Kanata. He is also a recognized life and golf skill coach and mentor for The First Tee chapter in Palm Springs, California.
