During his 22 years at Carleton, Watt has been dedicated to supporting Carleton athletics, as a fan, senior administrator and donor. He is an avid fan of several Carleton varsity teams, including basketball, football, hockey and soccer. He makes a point of attending many games, including every CIS basketball championship, no matter where it’s being played. As a member of the university’s senior management team, he has supported the development and implementation of the expansion of the athletics precinct on campus. As a result, Carleton’s facilities expanded to include the Fieldhouse, the Ice House, Alumni Hall, an upgraded lower field and the state-of-the-art fitness centre by 2013. This growth has enabled Carleton to realize its long-term goal of attracting the best student athletes and coaches, providing conditions that allow them to win and excel.
