George House not only played, but excelled at two varsity sports from 1956-59. He was a star guard and one of the top scorers of the great basketball teams of that era. The Ravens won O.S.L. Conference Basketball Championships in 1956-57 and 1958-59 and he was the O.S.L. Conference scoring champion in 1958-59. In tennis, he was captain/player on the varsity team for three years, an O.S.L. Conference singles finalist in 1956-57 and 1958-59, and had a career match record of 14-3. He finished his career at Carleton having earned six varsity letters and was chosen Carleton's Athlete of the Year in 1958-59.
