Mavis McArthur coached the women's basketball team"the Robins" at Carleton College and Carleton University from 1953 to 1966. She led the Robins to three titles: two Senior City Women's Championships, and in 1960-61 the Stewart Trophy, awarded to the top team in the Central Canada Women's Intercollegiate League. An Ottawa native and a graduate of Lisgar Collegiate, Mavis held a full-time job in addition to fulfilling her Carleton coaching duties. Her leadership and dedication provided inspiration to the members of her teams throughout her 13-year career at Carleton.
