After a five-year pro career, Mike McNamee returned to the Carleton Ravens as an assistant coach ahead of the 2021-22 season.
One of the most prolific scorers in the programs modern history, McNamee had 137 points in 105 games, good for third in modern era scoring. After his time at Carleton, McNamee joined the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL before heading overseas to spend time in Germany, Denmark and Wales before finishing his career in the ECHL.
The Perth, Ontario, native began his junior career in the CCHL with Smiths Falls before being signed by the Quebec Remparts. In two seasons in the QMJHL, McNamee scored 100 points in 121 games.
McNamee represented the Ravens as a member of Team Canada at the 2017 FISU Games. Alongside teammates Ryan Van Stralen, Brett Welychka and Corey Durocher, McNamee led Canada with 11 points in six games en route to a third place finish. Ravens head coach Marty Johnston, was an assistant with that team.
