Nadine Smith began her career as an athletic therapist at Carleton University in 1999 and has held the role of head athletic therapist for over 15 varsity seasons. Smith was appointed Assistant Manager of Athletic Therapy in 2024.
Over the years, Smith has gained international work experience at three Canada Games and the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games.
In 2024, Smith attended her second Paralympic Games, serving as an Athletic Therapist for the Canadian team. Nadine previously joined Canada at the 2021 games in Japan.
Nadine represented Canada at the Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games.
Nadine has attended five FISU Games, serving twice as Team Canada's Chief Therapist. She first earned FISU experience assisting the Canadian women’s hockey team to a gold medal at the 2009 FISU Winter Universiade in Harbin, China, before earning a silver medal with the team at the 2015 FISU Winter Universiade in Granada, Spain. Smith was named to the 2021 Lucerne Games, which were cancelled due to COVID. Nadine's first games as the Chief Therapist were in 2023 in Lake Placid, New York.
A native of Ottawa, Smith is a graduate of York University with a certificate in Sport Therapy and the University of Ottawa with a degree in Human Kinetics.
