Correy graduated from Carleton University in 1974. Strangely enough, his role at Carleton, post-graduation, required more involvement than ever before. Coinciding with his graduation, Carleton’s Men’s Varsity Hockey program was discontinued.
Correy put in an enormous amount of time and effort to revive the team, which was re-launched as a competitive club in 1991. From 1991 to 2006, Correy coached, managed and fundraised for the Carleton Ravens Hockey Club.
His years of hard work paid off in 2006-2007 with the revival of the varsity men’s ice hockey team and the completion of a $13 million ice house facility.
His tireless efforts were recognized by the Carleton University Alumni Association in 2007 where he was awarded the Volunteer of the Year. Correy continued his volunteer work with the varsity team as the Bald Ravens (men’s hockey alumni) Chapter President from 2006 to 2014.
