Mowling made a name for himself on Carleton campus as a successful two-sport athlete in the 1960s. He was a member of the Ravens golf team and Ravens men’s hockey team from 1961-65 where he was a captain of both squads. During his time as golf captain, Mowling led the team to two straight OSLAA championships and won the Ottawa-St. Lawrence Invitational tournament. He holds the Ravens men’s hockey record for most goals in a single season by a right winger with 19 and has 4 career hat tricks. In his final year, Mowling took home the Jack Vogan Memorial medal awarded to the year’s outstanding graduating male athlete.
