A distinguished builder of the women's field hockey program, Coach Terry Wheatley-Magee came to the program after a successful playing career at the varsity and Olympic levels. She served as Carleton's assistant coach from 1990 to 1995 and as head coach from 1996 to 2001. Under her leadership the team won the Ontario East division championship in 2000 and 2001. The team was also the first women's team at Carleton to achieve national ranking two years in a row - ninth in 2000 and seventh in 2001. In 2000 Terry was named both the Ontario and Canadian Coach of the Year, which was a first for Carleton as no other coach had received national coaching honours.
