There is more interest in and attention on women’s sports than ever before – and a growing appreciation of women athletes’ talents, strength, power and tenacity.
But there are still significant gaps compared to men’s sports in terms of pay, professional opportunities and visibility.
We recognize the unique contributions that Carleton women student-athletes, alumni, coaches and staff are making to their fields. And we strive to offer inclusive training and mentorship opportunities that equip women to be leaders in this space.
As a valued member of Carleton's athletics community, you learned all about the impact and importance of post-secondary athletics through our previous series, The Purpose of Athletics. You understand the value of sport in society, and the ways in which investing in women in sport specifically can create positive change for individuals and communities.
And as we welcome student-athletes back to campus and gear up for the 2024-25 seasons, we look forward to sharing stories, videos and engagement opportunities that highlight how Carleton women are elevating the profile of women in sport, creating greater visibility and attention, and helping pave the way for future women athletes and professionals.
