(ST.CATHARINES, ON) -- The Carleton Ravens men's ball hockey competitive club completed a successful season by placing second in the Ontario University Ball Hockey League (OUBHL) championships at the BallHockey.com Athletic Centre in St. Catharines, ON.
Following a regular season that saw the team finish with a respectable 18-9-0 mark in 27 regular season games - sitting second only to Brock - the Ravens made their way to Ontario's Golden Horseshoe area in search of the school's first-ever OUBHL medal.Carleton faced a talented McMaster (#3) in the semi-final, sweeping the Marauders in the best 2-of-3 series (4-3, 4-1) to advance to the championship round. However, the Ravens were denied their first OUBHL title, as the group fell in two games to Brock (#1), 7-5 in a heartbreaking Game 1 score and 6-1 in a difficult Game 2 result. Despite having their season end in less-than-ideal fashion, Carleton's silver lining came in the form of a silver medal - a first for the Ravens in the Ontario intercollegiate ranks.
With the majority of the core group returning for 2016-17, the Ravens ball hockey team will look to take the league by storm as they go hunting for gold starting in the fall.
