This weekend marks the first full weekend of Ravens action of the season. With the return of varsity soccer on Friday night, there are six Ravens games on the schedule including three on-campus.
HOME OPENER ROSTERS
Women’s Soccer: 5:00 p.m., Ravens’ Perch, Carleton University
The 2021 soccer season kicks off on Friday night when the women’s soccer team hosts the Queen’s Gaels at 5:00 p.m. After a long-awaited return to the pitch, the women’s team will face a steady stream of challenging competition in 2021. For the women’s team, this match-up is an opportunity to test themselves against some of the OUA’s best.
Men’s Soccer: 7:30 p.m., Ravens’ Perch, Carleton University
In the second game of the doubleheader, the defending 2019 OUA champion men’s soccer team looks to build on their fourth overall USPORTS Top 10 preseason ranking. The Ravens return a ton of firepower to their lineup as they prepare to host the USPORTS National Championships on campus in November.
All Ravens soccer regular season home games are non-ticketed events, however, the Ravens’ Perch will have a capacity of 750. Fans must wear masks at all times while in the stands. All individuals who are coming on to campus and/or participating in an in-person Carleton activity, must attest to their vaccination status and have received their first dose by September 8, 2021, in cuScreen.
4:00 p.m., York Lions Stadium, North York, Ontario
After falling 18-6 at home in week 1 the Carleton Ravens football team will play their first road game of the season on Saturday afternoon when they travel to York. The Ravens and Lions are both looking to score their first wins of the 2021 season in another pivotal OUA East matchup. With quaterback Tanner de Jong behind centre, the Ravens are looking to establish consistency after over nearly 18-months out of action.FREE BROADCAST ON OUA.TV
1:00 p.m., Ravens’ Perch, Carleton University
After evening their record to 1-1 last week at McGill, the Carleton Ravens rugby team will host the Martlets on campus Saturday afternoon. The Ravens beat McGill on Sunday by the third-largest margin in program history, stretching an early lead to a 75-0 victory. For the Ravens, the return visit from McGill is incredibly important as they look for their first home win of the season.

It won’t take long for a rematch of the season openers. The Ravens travel to Queen’s on Sunday for their second and final meeting of the season with the Gaels. On their last trip to Richardson Stadium in 2019, the Ravens were on the losing end of a 1-0 score.

Men’s Soccer: 3:30 p.m., Richardson Stadium, Kingston, Ontario
For the men’s soccer team, this will also be their first game at Richardson Stadium since 2019 when they were victorious in a tight 1-0 game. For the Ravens, they’ll look to continue their momentum from 2019 when they finished 13-1 in the OUA.
