OTTAWA – The Carleton Ravens wrapped up their 2021 preseason and the month of October with a pair of home wins.
On Friday night the Ravens welcomed their first OUA competition of the preseason to the Ravens’ Nest hosting the Algoma Thunderbirds. With a 3-1 record in the preseason, the Ravens jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. After taking a 17 point lead in the first quarter the Ravens would outscore Algoma by ten in each of the final three quarters on route to a 47-point, 103-56 victory. Five Ravens scored in double-digits including leader Connor Vreeken (Kingston, Ont.) who had 18 points to lead the Ravens.
On Saturday afternoon the Ravens would play their final preseason game beating the Concordia Stingers 98-72. After falling behind 20-14 at the end of the first quarter, the Ravens would outscore the Stingers by 20 in the second quarter taking the lead into the half. Ottawa’s Lloyd Pandi would lead the way for the Ravens with 24 points in 24 minutes, while Aiden Warnholtz (Ottawa, Ont.) would add 21 including five three-pointers.
The Ravens will look to transition their strong preseason play into points in the standings next weekend when they welcome fans back to The Nest. The Ravens open the 2021-22 season on Friday, November 5, when the Nipissing Lakers visit Carleton University for the McKeen’s Metro Glebe Home Opener Weekend.
