Last weekend while Ottawa sought the warmth of a fire and took part in the Superbowl hype, the Carleton Ravens Nordic Skiing team was out enjoying the new snow, sunshine and cold crisp weather at the Canadian Eastern Championships in Cantley, Quebec. This race weekend is famous among the skiing community for its high level of competition, with more than 650 racers from across the country. There were a 23 Carleton skiers at this event.
The top finishers for the Ravens were:
Kendra Murray - gold in the university 10 km women's individual start freestyle event, gold in the university 10 km classic mass start race
Adrienne Hynes - bronze in the university 10 km women's individual start freestyle event, silver in the university 10 km classic mass start race
Collin Abbott - gold in the university 15 km men's individual start freestyle event, gold in the university 15 km classic mass start race
Carrington Pomeroy - bronze in the university 15 km men's individual start freestyle event
Steffan Lloyd- bronze in the university 15 km men's classic mass start race
The team next travels to North Bay on February 12 to compete at Ontario University Athletic Championships.
