Canmore, Alta. – Three Ravens are racing among Canada’s top skiiers at Nordiq Canada’s Olympic and Junior/U23 World Ski Championship Team Trials in Canmore, Alta.
Recent alumna Zoë Williams (Ottawa, ON) and current Ravens Bronwyn Williams (Ottawa, ON) and Katherine Mason (Ottawa, ON) are all competing against the countries best with the local Nakkertok Nordic team.
As she often does, Zoë would lead the trio making the finals and finishing 6th overall in the 1.3km race. Bronwyn continued her strong start to the season, finishing in 11th place with a semi-final time of 3:42.22, and Mason finished in the top-20 with a quarter-final time of 3:48.38
Following a training day on Friday, the athletes will return to action on Saturday in the 10- and 15-kilometre interval start classic-ski races. The event is continuing in a modified version from the original plan, in order to ensure the health and safety of all competitors.
The four races at the Olympic Trials will be used to select the remaining three female spots, as well as alternates for both genders. Five athletes from each gender will also be named to the World Junior Team and the Under 23 Team.
