OTTAWA, Ontario – Carleton Ravens name women’s rugby player Lauryn Walker (Brampton, Ont.) first Athlete of the Week for the 2021 season.
A third-year social work student, Walker was a driving force as the Ravens women’s rugby team ushered in the return of varsity sport at Carleton University. In Carleton’s first varsity game in 552 days, Walker led the Ravens from the front row providing an attacking and defensive force. Midway through the second half, Walker exploded through several would-be tacklers, gaining key field position, helping to set up the Ravens lone try.
