The Carleton Ravens women's rugby program has a deep history of players advancing to international competition. With a roster of international players, Carleton players have participated in professional leagues and international matches throughout the program's history.
Natasha Flowersmith (Smith) was the first Ravens player to earn international caps. Smith represented Carleton and Canada at the World University Championships in 2013 in Russia. In 2014, she played in the same tournament in Brazil and won gold. She first represented Canada that year, playing for Canada’s national 15s team in England in 2015 and in Utah in 2016, and she represented Ontario in the Canadian Rugby Championships in 2016 and 2017.
Ravens alumna Demi Swann (BSCH/21 – Neuroscience & Mental Health) was recently a member of the Scotland side at the first-ever WXV 2 tournament in South Africa. The Scots came away with the tournament championship by point differential, narrowly edging Italy for the title. After not using a cap for Scotland, Swann switched flags joining Canada's Selects squad for a tour of Spain in 2024.
Quickly establishing herself on the world scene, Lauryn Walker captained Jamaica to a Pan-American games appearance, nearly earning a spot in the Paris Olympics. Walker was named the 2023 Jamaica Rugby Football Union Sportswoman of the Year for her leadership on and off the field.
The Ravens' all-time leading scorer Maya Addai has shown versatility playing both sevens and XV in her time with the Canadian national program.
Helping to establish the game in Egypt, Malak Saif El Nasr took time out of her studies to help establish 7s Rugby in Egypt as they looked to qualify for the Paris Olympics. Continuing her international career, Saif El Nasr and the squad captured silver at the 2025 Arab Rugby League Sevens Championship held in Alexandria.
After being identified by Rugby Canada through the RBC Training Group, Vanessa Chiappetta made her international debut for Canada at the HSBC SVNS Series in Singapore in April of 2025, earning a bronze medal.
Hasse had already hit the international stage before arriving at Carleton, playing for Canada's U20 Squad in the summer of 2024. After winning RSEQ Rookie of the Year, Hasse was again named to the lineup for the 2025 tour of Ireland.
