Oshawa, Ontario - The Carleton Ravens split an important Saturday afternoon in Oshawa with late-game heroics playing an important role in a pair of 2-1 games.
In the first game of the afternoon, Chloe Doherty would play the hero as she finished the Ravens' second-half comeback with a magical extra-time goal to lift the women's soccer team over Ontario Tech.
After Jordan Tortolo put the Ridgebacks ahead in the final minutes before the half, Carleton would dig deep in the second half scoring goals in the 82nd minute and again in extra time.
After Elodie Sylvain tied the game late in regulation, Chloe Doherty nailed a powerful strike from outside the box that flew far side out of the reach of the Ontario Tech keeper for the win.
On the men's side, the Ravens weren't as lucky. The Ridgebacks opened the scoring in the second minute before Luca Piciolli would respond with a penalty in the 30th minute. Unfortunately for the Ravens, the Ridgebacks' tight defensive play relentless defending would prove too much. Despite a strong push, the Ridgebacks would repeat their strong showing from a week ago, holding off the Ravens into the final minutes.
With little time left in regulation, the Ridgebacks would strike as Carlos Edic found the back of the net for another 2-1 victory.
