Thunder Bay, Ont. - The Ravens flew north Saturday night to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves for the regular season’s final game. Carleton was firing on all cylinders as they defeated Lakehead 76-45.
Carleton opened up the first half of action in dominant fashion, going on an early 13-2 run. Their hot start led to a high-scoring first quarter in which they outscored the Thunderwolves 27-7
Ravens guard Kyanna Jade Poulin was the driving force behind the commanding win. Jade Poulin was seemingly unstoppable, she scored a season-high 18 points coupled with 10 rebounds, resulting in her first double-double in the OUA.
Contributions from Kali Pocrnic and Teresa Donato helped to fuel the fire that was the Ravens. Pocrnic finished with an impressive 15 points, in which she was rolling from downtown getting three triples to fall. Donato joined in scoring 14 points with 5 assists to go along with it.
First-year Jaqueline Urban, who has been an incredible addition to this Ravens roster, broke Carleton women’s modern-day record for most rebounds in a single season. Urban finished the game with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Urban's 238 rebounds passed the 231 rebounds of Heather Lindsay in 2017-18.
With the win, the Ravens wrap up their season with a 19-3 record, securing a first-round bye in the playoffs. They will host the quarterfinal game on Saturday, February 25th at the Raven’s Nest.
